Andrew Melzer is an Associate in the New York office of Sanford Wittels & Heisler, LLP.
Mr. Melzer represents individuals in class actions involving wage and hour, discrimination, and consumer protection claims. Mr. Melzer is currently representing clients in a suit against Sonoma County and Sonoma County Jail for failing to treat their son’s sickle cell crisis, which eventually lead to his death. Mr. Melzer is also representing a class of Level One Managers at Southern New England Telephone Company seeking unpaid overtime.
Prior to joining SWH in November 2007, Mr. Melzer was an attorney at an international organization in Zurich, Switzerland (2005-2007), where he helped to restore lost and stolen assets to Holocaust victims and their heirs. He also served as a judicial law clerk on the Massachusetts Appeals Court (2003-2005), where he clerked for Chief Justice Christopher Armstrong and Justice Benjamin Kaplan. During law school, Mr. Melzer represented clients in employment and civil rights related matters.
