Johnston Chen graduated cum laude from Northwestern University in 2010 with Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Political Science and International Studies.
While at Northwestern, Mr. Chen actively participated in the Chinese Student Association and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. In the past, Mr. Chen has worked for Equality Illinois—the state’s largest LGBT rights organization; at the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office, at the Office of Congressman Xavier Becerra, at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, and at Northwestern University’s School of Law. Mr. Chen also studied for a semester in Paris, France.
Mr. Chen hopes to attend law school in the future in order to make a lasting legacy for the LGBT civil rights movement.
